Compare the LAMZU MAYA Champion Edition with the standard MAYA. See what's different, who should upgrade, and whether the extra cost is worth it.

Quick Answer

The LAMZU MAYA Champion Edition keeps the same core shape and feel as the standard MAYA but adds a higher polling rate capability and a distinctive color option. Choose it if you want the latest performance features and a unique look; stick with the standard if you're satisfied with 1000 Hz and want to save money.

What Actually Changed in the Champion Edition

The Champion Edition is not a full redesign. It keeps the same lightweight shell and ergonomic shape that made the MAYA popular. The main difference is performance: it supports up to 4000 Hz polling with a separately sold 4K dongle. The standard MAYA tops out at 1000 Hz unless you add an 8K dongle (which is also sold separately).

Another visible change is the color option. The Champion Edition offers a special Champion colorway that distinguishes it from the standard black or white models. Beyond that, the sensor and switch specifications remain the same as the standard MAYA.

Why 4K Polling Might Matter to You

A higher polling rate means the mouse reports its position to your PC more frequently. In fast-paced shooters, that can translate to slightly smoother cursor movement and a more responsive feel. However, the difference between 1000 Hz and 4000 Hz is subtle for most players. If you're not a competitive esports athlete, you may not notice it in everyday use.

Also, higher polling rates consume more battery. If you prioritize battery life over the last bit of responsiveness, the standard MAYA at 1000 Hz is the more practical choice.

The 4K Dongle: An Extra Purchase

The Champion Edition does not include a 4K dongle in the box. If you want to use the 4000 Hz polling rate, you need to buy the retail-packed 4K dongle separately. This adds to the total cost. Factor that in when comparing prices.

If you already own a standard MAYA and are happy with its performance, upgrading to the Champion Edition just for the 4K capability may not be worth it unless you also plan to buy the dongle.

Champion Edition vs Standard: Trade-offs at a Glance

Polling Rate: Champion Edition supports up to 4000 Hz with a separate 4K dongle; standard MAYA is limited to 1000 Hz unless you add an 8K dongle. Higher polling can feel smoother but uses more battery. Decide if the extra responsiveness is worth the extra cost and battery drain.
Price: The Champion Edition costs more than the standard MAYA, and you may need to buy the 4K dongle separately, increasing the total investment. Compare the total cost including the dongle before you commit.
Design: The Champion Edition features a unique Champion colorway; the standard MAYA offers more traditional color options. The shape and size are identical. Choose based on your aesthetic preference, since performance is otherwise similar.

Product Facts

LAMZU MAYA [Champion Edition]: The 4K dongle is not included in the package. To upgrade to 4K, you need to purchase the retail-packed 4K dongle separately. This means the Champion Edition's headline feature requires an extra purchase, so your total cost is higher than the listed price if you want 4K polling.
